THE CONSOLERS - TELL THE CHILD ABOUT GOD LP 75
Another gem from Goodwill that needed a little dish soap wash for the mold as you can see in upper corner but was minty fresh looking underneath! From a great year in music 1975 and not to be simply dismissed as later Jesus Music but crosses over into soul territory with great catchy songs! Enjoy!
VA - VIACOMCMD RADIO K w INT'L COMP tape 97
What a pleasant surprise to find this compilation I made from taping songs from my favorite AM radio station RADIO K on the back of one of the Prince bootlegs last week! This one is the latest year so far I've found, 1997 which is interesting to me since back then I had said 1996 was one of my favorite years in music due to this stations many charms such as one mentioned within that they did a weekly top 12 countdown on international music with one played every hour. I didn't have all the titles from the DJ banter between songs but damn a couple of these world music releases kick some major ass so all you Muslimgauze downloaders take heed! Includes also: Pavement, Blur, The Promise Ring (later morphed into Maritime who I have posted as well--both from WI), Morphine, Negu Gorriak, Shallow, Cornershop, Sleater-Kinney and some song starts I recorded then changed my mind either due to my having the band already or loss of signal or some other reason but they sure have those super catchy song parts that have stuck in my head all these years--simply incredible licks!!

VIVA SATURN - st EP 89
REPOST Request: Per Wiki: Viva Saturn was an alternative/neo-psychedelic rock group from Los Angeles, California, founded by Steven Roback of Rain Parade. The band was active from 1989 to 1998. History:
When Rain Parade decided to take a break in 1988, Steven Roback formed a new project, Viva Saturn, with fellow Rain Paraders John Thoman and Will Glenn. The band's first release, a mini-LP called Viva Saturn, was released on Pat Thomas' San Francisco-based Heyday Records and World Service/Rough Trade UK in 1989.
The following year, after Glenn left to join David Roback's Mazzy Star, the band relocated to San Francisco, where Rain Parade co-founder Matt Piucci joined to play guitar and assist with studio production.
Over the next few years the band used various musicians, including Ross Inden (bass guitar) and Carlo Nuccio (drums)[2] to record a series of acclaimed neo-psychedelic albums, including Soundmind (1992), featuring guest appearances from Green on Red's Jack Waterson and Chris Cacavas, and Barbara Manning of 28th Day.
This was followed in 1995 with the more pop, but still electro-acoustic psychedelia-rooted album, Brightside. The band recorded a final album, Ships of Heaven, in 1998, but this has not been released.
After Viva Saturn, Roback embarked on solo recording projects, joined by his former Rain Parade bandmantes Piucci and Thoman. In 2012, Steven Roback and Matt Piucci reformed Rain Parade and resumed touring and recording new studio material.

DEADEYE DICK - A Different Story CD 94
REPOST Request: What I wrote before: Nice Goodwill find in this CD from the 90's as I remember the hit tune 'New Age Girl' and you might too! Per Discogs: merican alternative rock trio from New Orleans. Their name refers to a figure from the Kurt Vonnegut novel "Slaughterhouse-Five".
Members: Caleb Guillotte - Vocals, Guitar, Mark Miller - Bass, Bill Landry - Drums
Asoka - st CD 71 -cc
COLLECTOR'S CHOICE: Per Discogs: Swedish progressive rock band from Malmö, formed in 1971 as a successor to the groups Taste Of Blues and Take Off.
The band was restarted in 2004.
Ardo Dombec- st CD 71 -cc
COLLECTOR'S CHOICE: Per Discogs: Very little is known about Ardo Dombec, though they were quite untypical of the Pilz label, being a heavy, bluesy and slightly jazzy rock with the accent on songs rather than instrumentals, and barely did they sound German. Undoubtedly they were inspired by the late-60's work by American bands like Chicago Transit Authority or Blood Sweat & Tears (as obviously were Creative Rock and Emergency), and admittedly the album ARDO DOMBEC had its moments, combining blues, soul and jazz styles into a song-based rock music, all with surprising depth in the arrangements for a four-piece band. Obviously a great deal of multi-tracking was going on! But, ARDO DOMBEC became most notorious for featuring the painful "five second scratch" joke track "Oh, Sorry" and its rather dangerous looking "bloody cactus in an ice-cream cone" cover! Contrastingly their contributions to the HEAVY CHRISTMAS concept sampler showed them at their best - instrumental, radical and full of invention, towards the realms of Thirsty Moon or Kollektiv.
EURYTHMICS - In The Garden CD 81 w Touch CD 83 w Ultimate Collection CD 05 w Peace CD 99 w Annie Lennox - Medusa CD 95 w Bare CD 03
REPOST Request and ADD ON: Didn't have time to add some of their mid-80's releases so feel free to add links in the comments or I will get it next time. Also added the Annie Lennox solo stuff I had found at Goodwill where I also got the band's stuff. Per Discogs: British synthpop duo of Annie Lennox (b. December 25, 1954, Aberdeen, UK) and David A. Stewart (b. September 9, 1952, Sunderland, UK). They first recorded together as members of new wave band The Catch who would change their name to The Tourists and enjoy two UK top ten hits in early 1980, but disband before the year was out. In 1981, Lennox and Stewart made their debut as Eurythmics, though they struggled to gain recognition at first, only breaking through with their sixth single Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This). This was the turning point of their career. They continued to be one of the leading synth pop groups throughout the eighties. After a long period of solo activities in the early and mid-90s Eurythmics re-united for one album and charity world tour in 1999 and in 2004 for the release of extended, remastered and repacked editions of their previous albums and a second hits compilation. Eurythmics released one song (the B-side of Put A Little Love In Your Heart by Annie Lennox & Al Green) under the alias The Spheres Of Celestial Influence, a name considered before naming themselves Eurythmics. They chose that name referring to the Dalcroze eurhythmics pedagogical exercise system that Lennox had encountered as a child, aka the Dalcroze method.
RENAISSANCE - st LP 69 w Illusion LP 71 w Prologue LP 72 w Ashes Are Burning LP 73 w Turn Of The Cards LP 74 w Scheherazade And Other Stories LP 75 w Live At Carnegie Hall 2LP 76 w Novella LP 77 w A Song For All Seasons LP 78 w Azure D'Or LP 79 w Camera Camera LP 81 w Time Line LP 83
REPOST Request: Per Discogs: Renaissance was originally formed in London, UK, in 1969 by ex-The Yardbirds vocalist Keith Relf and drummer Jim McCarty who wanted to explore a new sound blending elements of rock, folk and classical music. Relf assumed the role of guitarist, and they were joined by bassist Louis Cennamo, keyboardist John Hawken, and vocalist Jane Relf. This lineup recorded the first self-titled album and most of the second album, Illusion (1971). A rapid series of personnel changes followed. Guitarist and composer Michael Dunford first appeared on Illusion. Before his departure from the band Hawken recruited new vocalist Annie Haslam. By 1972, when the Renaissance recorded their third album, Prologue, none of the original members remained though McCarty still wrote music for the band.
By 1973 the lineup had stabilized with Haslam, Dunford, keyboardist John Tout, bassist and vocalist Jon Camp, and drummer Terry Sullivan. This lineup produced a string of relatively successful albums over the remainder of the decade. They had one Top 10 single in the U.K., "Northern Lights", from the album A Song For All Seasons (1978).
By 1980 Sullivan and Tout departed leaving Haslam, Dunford, and Camp as the stable core of the group with various other musicians coming and going through the early and mid 1980s. The group released two albums, Camera Camera (1981) and Time-Line (1983) which were not well received by either fans or critics. Renaissance went into the studio to record a further album but found themselves without a label willing to release it. Material for this album as well as discarded tracks from the sessions for the previous three releases finally saw the light of day as Songs From Renaissance Days in 1997.
Renaissance broke up in 1987 but both Michael Dunford and Annie Haslam tried to revive the name with different musicians in the 1990s. Haslam, Dunford, Tout, and Sullivan did reunite and released a studio album, Tuscany, in 2001, and a live album, In The Land Of The Rising Sun, in 2002. In 2009 Haslam and Dunford reformed Renaissance for a 40th anniversary concert tour. Rave Tesar, who replaced John Tout on keyboards for the 2001-02 tour and David J. Keyes, the bassist from the same tour, also rejoined the band. Two new members were also added to the lineup, keyboardist Tom Brislin and drummer Frank Pagano.
Live CDs and DVDs from their 2011 tour were released, with Jason Hart replacing Tom Brislin on keyboards. In 2013 their first new studio album in 12 years, Grandine Il Vento was released. It was the last album to feature Michael Dunford, who died in November, 2012.

REPOST Request: What I wrote last time: A record store owner in a nearby town has his cover of 'Hot Rod Lincoln' on his cell phone as it was his favorite growing up. Damn just heard the COMMANDER passed this month! God be with him and his family with my deepest condolences. All 8 of us children were named after Holy Saints with my first the Patron Saint of soldiers but in these times I look to my middle namesake Joseph Patron Saint of a Happy Death and the Superconscious and pray to St. Joseph for a happy death. I added the 'Let's Rock' album to the previous post and it really hit the spot for me! Maybe I can add in time the Commander Cody Band CD I got when I saw him live.
